Two and a half-hours northeast of San Francisco sits Wilbur Hot Springs, a truly hidden gem in California! This 1,800-acre nature preserve is home to an off-the-grid retreat with natural hot springs. Though not a traditional wedding venue, the site has sentimental value to the couple and we were so excited when Karli and Stephen asked us to help plan a three-day wedding event during which 65 guests had exclusive use of the property. Getting married on a site with minimal electricity posed a unique set of challenges (you’ll notice bridesmaids gathered around the hood of a car, using its battery as a power source for curling irons), but also provided so many opportunities to bring guests together for fun and memorable activities. A small bridge provided a beautiful ceremony location, and use of existing picnic tables during the reception helped to keep the decor congruent with the surrounding retreat. Full Belly Farms provided delicious seasonal food from their certified organic farm, and Alison Yin Photography did an amazing job capturing the spirit and energy of the day!
